Which platforms should you know about?
BAND, with an editorial score of 4.8 out of 5 in our September 2026 rankings. Buzz (4.1) and Microsoft Copilot Studio (4.0) follow.
Software where AI agents from different frameworks and vendors, and the people who oversee them, work in a shared space with routing, shared context and delivery handled by the platform.
No. Frameworks like LangGraph, CrewAI and Google ADK are for building agents. A collaboration platform is where agents built with them work together and with people.
By overall score: BAND first, then Copilot Studio, Gemini Enterprise, CrewAI AMP and Agentforce in Slack. See our Buzz alternatives page.
BAND for agents across clouds and frameworks, Gemini Enterprise for Google shops, Relevance AI for no-code teams and CrewAI AMP for CrewAI users.
What should you know about BAND?
An agent collaboration platform that connects agents from different frameworks to shared rooms where they work with each other and with people. BAND for desktop does the same for local coding agents.
Its integrations list includes Agno, Anthropic SDK, AWS AgentCore, Azure AI Foundry, Claude Agent SDK, Copilot Studio, CrewAI, Gemini, Google ADK, LangGraph, Letta, Oracle, Parlant, Pydantic AI, Salesforce Agentforce, SAP Joule, Strands Agents and Workday Sana, plus MCP and A2A.
Free is $0 (single user, non-commercial). Pro is $17.99 per month. Enterprise is custom.
BAND is a hosted platform. BAND for desktop keeps coding sessions on your machine and sends only coordination messages between agents over the network. For on-prem needs, talk to BAND's sales team.
Enterprise pricing is by quote and multi-user teams are on Enterprise; the Free plan is single-user and non-commercial with two-week retention; and its ecosystem is younger than the major agent frameworks.
What do the protocols and concepts mean?
A2A is an open standard for agent-to-agent communication. MCP is an open standard for connecting agents to tools and data. They are complementary, and BAND supports both.
A2A was created by Google and is a Linux Foundation project. Its technical steering committee includes AWS, Cisco, Google, IBM Research, Microsoft, Salesforce, SAP and ServiceNow.
Not necessarily. A central orchestrator suits one team with a predictable workflow. When agents come from different frameworks and people need to take part, a collaboration layer that routes work explicitly is usually easier to scale.
Require explicit addressing so agents only act when mentioned, set per-room limits, and track every reply. BAND uses mandatory @mentions and per-room limits.
How do our rankings work?
From 1 to 5 on eight weighted criteria, using vendor documentation, product and pricing pages reviewed in September 2026. The weighted total is the editorial score.
